Introduction
The Project coordinator, Prof. Atienza, provided participants with a summary of 2024 project achievements and 2025 expectations.
WP1 on the energy urban infrastructure
At the WP1 session, chaired by the WP1 lead, Prof. Paolone, the project team presented activities on the energy infrastructure monitoring and operation. Special focus was put on the demo activities in Lausanne, undertaken in collaboration with the local utility, Services Industriels de Lausanne.
WP2 on social and behavioural aspects
At the WP2 session, chaired by Prof. Sonta, partners presented activities related to the analysis and modelling of socio-economic and environmental linkages with energy
WP3 on the digital twin technologies
At the WP3 session, chaired by Dr. Constantinescu, partners from EPFL and ETHZ presented their activities' progress on the development of edge-to-cloud and multi-scale digital twin technologies for data gathering and application-driven optimization of resources. Special emphasis was put on the activities undertaken at the EPFL EcoCloud demo site.
WP4 on models integration
The WP4 session, chaired by Prof. Marechal and Dr. Braz, was focused on activities related to the impact of the climate change on the urban infrastructure, market aspects and buildings matterials recycling. Furthermore, the overall models integration in one UrbanTwin tool was presented.
WP5 on water urban infrastructure
At the WP5 session, chaired by Dr. Calvani and Dan Andersson, partners presented activities on the climate change impact assessment on water urban infrastructure. Special focus was put on the implementation of the sponge-city concept at the EPFL demo site.
